Poster Artwork Deadline Feb 15th
Fairbanks Waste Reduction Week is a collection of free community events from March 4th – 9th, 2024 to get the Fairbanks community involved in reducing our waste stream. Green Star of Interior Alaska and Compost FBX are working together to plan lots of fun activities for families to participate in and we need your help to get people excited. Have your elementary age child draw a picture for our poster that illustrates “reducing waste in Fairbanks.”

Waste includes recyclables (papers, cardboard, plastic bottles, cans, etc.) , compostables (food waste, wood, paper, cardboard, animal waste, etc.), waste water (taking long showers, etc.) , and waste electricity (leaving the lights on when you leave the house, using old lightbulbs, etc.).
The winner will have their design printed as flyers and posted around town and online. The top three winners will have their design printed as a large poster and proudly displayed at the Fairbanks Waste Reduction Week event on March 9th from 12 – 6 pm at the J.P. Jones Center.
