GoodCents = great recycle bins!
Thank you to GVEA Good Cents Grant program for the donation of $1200 in 2023! The funds have been used to purchase additional recycle bins and Aluminum Cans Only bin lids for GSIA’s Community Bin Loan Program. You will recognize our bins from our Event Recycling projects, like Midnight Sun Festival, Golden Days, and the Tanana Valley State Fair. But did you know that these bins can also be loaned out to community groups and businesses FOR FREE when the group is willing to take the recyclables to the Central Recycling Facility themselves!
Last summer, bins were loaned to the Golden Heart Softball Association and were used for the month of tournaments ending their season. In February, Ice Alaska used the bins at the World Ice Art Championships and recently First United Methodist Church has borrowed bins for their youth program as a community service project.
