We have a super exciting announcement! Start saving your steel food cans because starting July 1st FNSB residents will be able to take them to the FNSB Central Recycling Facility (CRF) for recycling along with everything else! This includes what folks call tin cans which are technically steel cans with a tin lining.
Please make sure your cans have the paper labels removed and are rinsed so that they are FOOD FREE. We are not staffed to rinse or remove labels from cans so unfortunately we will have to ask you to take your cans back if they are not rinsed or label free in order to make the program work.
The cans will go into a bin at FNSB CRF in the regular recycling drop off lanes.
Commercial CRF users, ask your haulers about options for diverting steel cans.
We are only accepting cans at the FNSB CRF! Please bring your scrap metal to the FNSB Landfill, K&K or C&R Pipe and Steel.
Adding steel can recycling to the FNSB Central Recycling Facility (CRF) means we needed to update our recycling guide! You can download a new recycle guide at our website here or get one when you come to the FNSB CRF.
Thank you and happy recycling!
