Green Star of Interior Alaska (GSIA) officially opened a used electronics store in May of 2023. The store specializes in reconditioned laptops and desktops, using recycled parts for building machines that are as good as new.
The program grew out of GSIA’s laptop donation program which had sprung out of the increased need for technology during COVID. The donation program, now known as Reboot IT, still provides basic reconditioned machines to those in need. A donation of $20 is requested to pay for the new SSD that is installed in all laptops, but no one is refused for lack of ability to pay.
The new storefront is operated out of the 2134 Texaco Ave warehouse. Open hours are Tuesday – Friday 10AM – 5PM and Saturday 1PM – 5PM. Inventory includes cables, cords, computer peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, mice, and speakers. Stop by to see what’s new since inventory turns over weekly.
