This month’s recyclable material spotlight is sorted office paper! Office paper is a higher value commodity sorted out of our standard mixed paper that we collect. This is because it can be turned into any other color of paper but other colored paper can’t be turned into white paper. Our staff has been sorting office paper into its own bales because of this.

Basic white printer paper, copier paper and writing/notebook paper count, as well as white envelopes that much of your mail comes in. No worries about those plastic windows in your envelopes or staples, those are separated when the paper is turned into a pulp to make new paper. Please make sure binder clips and paperclips are removed. Color printed on the paper is also okay if the base color of the paper is white.

FNSB is currently in the process of scoping and planning the new CRF so we will be sending lots of updates as things progress and we are hopefully able to expand the materials we recycling. Please tell your friends to send an email to subscribe@iagreenstar.org if they aren’t already on the list and would like recycling updates.
