Vehicle Batteries

Identification: Vehicle Batteries include batteries from cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, ATV’s, motorcycles, and snow machines. The most common are lead-acid batteries, but they include newer technologies such as lithium ion, lithium polymer.

Preparation: Place batteries in a non-conductive storage container (e.g. non-metal). Acid leaking from vehicles batteries can be very corrosive and can cause chemical burns.

Items not accepted: Damaged lithium ion batteries may be considered too dangerous to handle and may not be accepted; Some facilities do not accept cracked or leaking vehicle batteries. Please contact your recycler for additional information.
