Though the Central Recycling Facility (CRF) is not yet open, Green Star is resuming some of our operations on a limited basis. Our Saturday Workdays are still on hold – we will not resume hosting large numbers of volunteers in the warehouse until we believe it safe to do so.
We will be open for shopping for used electronic goods and limited volunteer time starting Monday, May 11th, with the following precautions based on Governor Dunleavy’s updated Health Mandate 16:
- We are asking all volunteers and shoppers to call (907) 452-4152 to speak with a staff member about their trip to Green Star, what you are looking for and whether they can avoid the trip.
- All customers will be asked to pay with a credit or debit card to avoid the transfer of cash that could contain the virus.
- Customers and volunteers must wear masks to enter our warehouse. They will be checked at the door and prevented from entry unless they are wearing one.
- There should be no more than 20 people at a time in the warehouse, and no more than one person per household.
- A social distance of at least six feet is maintained between non-household individuals in the warehouse.
- We will be directing traffic through our garage door entrance accessed through the gated chain-link fence. Our main door is shared with our ACS neighbors, and we want to reduce risk to their employees. See the photo below.
- Our staff will be delivering electronic goods to people outside in their cars if practical.
- Volunteers are still encouraged to take projects home if possible to limit their time in the warehouse.
- Any persons with symptoms consistent to COVID-19 may not enter our warehouse.
