WVHS Climate Defense League Recycling Arrives at CRF

Monday November 11th was a historic first at the FNSB Central Recycling Facility (CRF). Golden Heart Waste Management (GHWM) delivered the first recycling dumpster load from West Valley High School (WVHS). West Valley’s Climate Defense League (CDL) has been working with GHWM, Explore Fairbanks and Green Star of Interior Alaska (GSIA) to implement a student-led recycling program at their school. Members of all organizations were present at the CRF for the historic inaugural drop of West Valley’s recycling. In just the first few weeks, over 500 pounds will be recycled instead of landfilled! Thank you to all the students who organized to make this possible and for your vision and persistence which made WVHS the first FNSB School with a recycling dumpster. You are making a difference that matters!
