It’s Backhaul season! The time of year where we are busy helping communities recycle their e-waste! We will be joining Backhaul Alaska, Zender Environmental , Matson, and the City of Delta Junction in Delta Junction at the Landfill (Mile 257.2 of the Richardson Hwy) this Friday August 22nd and Saturday the 23rd from 11am-3pm to collect unwanted electronics!
If it ever had a cord or battery and you don’t want it any more, get it recycled instead of landfilled. And we will recycle the cords and batteries too! Check out the poster for more info on what to bring and not bring.
Did you know that Green Star is the Interior Region Coordinator for the Alaska Rural Backhaul program? We help remote Interior communities haul e-waste out of their communities to our warehouse for recycling. As all landfills in rural Alaskan communities are unlined, keeping e-waste out of them also keeps toxic compounds from leeching into communities water tables.
