Join us to mend your clothes!
Have clothes in need of repair but don’t know how to mend them or you know how to but haven’t made the time? Bring them with you to our first Mending Night where our Community Menders will help teach you how to repair them yourself! Or you can use the space to body double mending and get through that mending pile you still have going from winter. All experience levels and supplies welcome.
While we do not have the exact numbers for Fairbanks North Star Borough, if you take a tour of our landfill you can see that so much of our clothing (yes even from some favorite second hand stores or items left at a Transfer Site) end up in the FNSB Landfill. This Mending Night is intended to reduce that amount by teaching folks how to mend their own clothes in fun creative ways.
