Recyclable Spotlight: Electronics and Batteries
Did you know that you can recycle your old electronics, especially household batteries (no car batteries), computers, gaming systems and laptops at the Central Recycling Facility? Whenever possible our ReUse IT team will refurbish items to sell at our ReUse IT store or give to community members via our ReBoot IT Technology Grants program. Even items too old to be reused will be taken apart for recycling. This keeps your old electronics in circulation, out of your junk drawer, and out of our landfill.
Behind the scenes for National Recycling Day!
November 15th is National Recycling Day! We will be running tours out of the Central Recycling Facility (1855 Marika Rd. off of Aurora) every hour on the half hour starting at 10:30 and ending 3:30 on November 15th.Please make sure that you park on the left hand side...

Green Star of Interior Alaska – the operator of the FNSB Central Recycling Facility (CRF) needs your voice in the upcoming FNSB Capital Improvement Projects discussion about the future and direction of the CRF here in Fairbanks.
March 4-9 – Waste Reduction Week
Both Compost FBX and Green Star of Interior Alaska have missions and passions which share three common objectives: Reduce waste, Reuse what can be reused, and Recycle everything else. Waste reduction week was conceived with the goal of raising awareness of our individual missions and getting the community involved in waste reduction.
