The Fairbanks North Star Borough Central Recycling Facility has reopened with Green Star of Interior Alaska as the new operations contractor!

Thank you, Fairbanksans for diligently holding onto your recyclables while the Central Recycling Facility was closed. We appreciate your patience as we handle high traffic and volumes as we reopen!

If you don’t mind holding on a little longer, that will help us distribute the large loads.

You can help us keep things running smoothly by pre-sorting your recyclables! (#1 and #2 plastic bottles and jugs, cardboard, paperboard, mixed paper, newspaper, office paper, aluminum beverage cans, household batteries, and electronics). Click here for a list of items the Central Recycling Facility does and does not accept.

We are also accepting volunteers to help Green Star staff greet and assist our fellow Fairbanksans with unloading and sorting their recyclables.
