The 4th Annual Flint Hills Resources Swap-O-Rama is a community wide clothing, shoes and accessories swap for both genders and all ages.

This event is a fundraiser for Green Star of Interior Alaska, a local nonprofit. Green Star promotes and preserves a healthy Alaska by encouraging and enabling our community to reduce waste and increase recycling.

Clean out your closets and find those pieces that you just never wear, that are too big now that you lost weight, or just don’t go with your newest shipment from Stitch Fix. We have begun accepting items at our warehouse on 1205 1st Avenue across from the Aurora Energy power plant. We will be available to accept your items Monday through Thursday from 9am to 3pm (with a break for the holidays from December 18th thru January 3rd). Please ring the doorbell and we’ll be there to assist you!

Swap will start promptly at 11am on January 20th. For $15 (with no donation) you are welcome to grab all the items you want that fit in a bag provided by our sponsor Flint Hills Resources, extra bags are an additional $5. People who donate clothing get in for $10.

The 4th annual Swap-O-Rama will feature a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction featuring items from our local business community. Bring cash for the 50/50 raffle. Silent auction winners can make payment by cash or card.

What

Bring clothes, shoes, jewelry, bags, belts, etc and $10 to participate.
All the leftover items will be donated to Fairbanks Resource Agency’s Closet Collections.
All items must be clean and not damaged.

How

Bring us your men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing & accessories!

Clothing will be accepted during the drop off time period, Monday – Thursday, 9am – 3pm, until January 19th, with a break for the holidays from December 14th – January 3rd.
Volunteers will then sort the items into like groups.
Swap will start promptly at 11am. For $10 with a clothing donation ($15 without a clothing donation) you are welcome to grab all the items you want that fit in a bag provided by our sponsor Flint Hills Resources, additional bags can be purchased for $5.

Volunteers Needed

This fundraiser won’t succeed without your help! We are looking for volunteers to register participants, sort through clothing, host an activity or help clean-up after the event.

Some volunteer tasks include:

  • Receiving clothing during the drop offhands
  • Sorting clothing into like items
  • Loading and unloading of clothing (from our warehouse to the Carlson Center)
  • Registration desk & 50/50 raffle help

Friday, 01/19 from 9 am – 1 pm (sorting and truck loading)
Friday, 01/19 from 1pm – 5 pm (truck loading, rack and clothing delivery, signage)
Saturday, 01/20 from 10 am – 11 am (set-up/sorting)
Saturday, 01/20 from 11 am – 2 pm (registration/door help)
Saturday, 01/20 from 11 am – 3 pm (Swap help)
Saturday, 01/20 from 11 am – 2:30 pm (Silent Auction and 50/50 raffle help)
Saturday, 01/20 from 3 pm – 6 pm (clean up)

Drop Offs: You can drop off your items at our warehouse on 1205 1st Avenue Monday through Thursday during the hours of 9am to 3pm excluding holidays (November 23rd, & December 18th through January 3rd). Please ring the green doorbell next to the door for assistance.

Silent Auction: Support for this year’s silent auction has been made possible by our local business community. The auction opens at 11am January 20th and closes promptly at 2:30pm. You need not be present to win and admission is not needed to participate.

50/50 Raffle: Tickets can be purchased in cash at $1 for one ticket, $5 for 7 tickets, or $10 for 15 tickets. The winner of the raffle will receive half of the total funds collected. The raffle begins at 11am and closes at 2:30pm. You need not be present to win; the winning ticket will be announced via Facebook and email.

Admission: It is $10 to participate in the Swap if you bring clothing to swap and $15 to participate if you do not bring clothing. You will receive 1 bag to fill and additional bags can be purchased for $5.
